Gordon seems to be running around in circles over the soon-to-be-created Iraq War enquiry. Despite his initial assertion that it would be held in private, he now seems to be oscillating between 'we cannot compromise the security of our boys in Iraq' and 'the public deserve to know' proclamations, timed uncannily to coincide with the varying media deadlines. In a remarkably spineless act of leadership, he has effectively now given the power over the level of the committee's openness to its chairman, whilst at the same time tying his hands by saying that it should be held in private. The government claims to be instituting a Franks Style Inquiry (which investigated the Falklands), but at least Maggie Thatcher had the courage to dictate its openness and bounds of inquiry. It seems that Gordon is, yet again, abdicating responsibility at the crucial moment.

Waiting for coverage of the Boris-Ian Expenses debacle, both of them...
Despite all the blood spilled in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Americans are now insulting Britain and the NHS! Typical lack of gratitude...
